Froghouse is hiring a remote, part-time designer to support a handful of educational projects that focus on creative expression and computational tinkering. To start, you’ll work with us to design and develop print and web-based composable learning resources, teaching guides, and workshop materials that will be translated into dozens of languages and used by educators and young people around the world. Successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of user needs and journeys
  • Expertly use Figma, Google Slides / Docs, and Adobe Creative Suite to design print and digital resources
  • Prioritize a commitment to brand coherence and attention to detail
  • Maintain an excellent sense of typography, color, and composition
  • Ensure a high degree of accessibility across both print and digital formats
  • Design for composability, scalability, and remixability
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop intuitive and well-documented materials and workflows
  • Give and receive constructive critique to improve concepts and designs
  • Effectively communicate ideas, both written and verbal, to a wide range of collaborators
  • Have an interest in the principles of creative learning and constructionist pedagogy

Top candidates will additionally demonstrate interest and experience in at least one of the following fields. Additional or follow-on work may be available in these areas.

  • UX design: Establishing user flows, wireframing product architecture
  • Front-end web development: Developing and deploying websites, integrating with content management systems
  • Communications: Exploring the margins of social media
  • Product development: Prototyping composable, open source hardware
